Ser. No. 180318 Is the second Criterion Weissenborn style acoustic, hollow neck, Hawaiian lap steel guitar. This instrument is built from Ancient Kauri wood dug from the earth on the north island of New Zealand and has been radio carbon dated at forty to fifty thousand years old, it is the oldest workable wood on the planet. (www.ancientwood.com) The top is Western Red Cedar with an African Mahogany headstock with Snakewood overlay and bridge. It is decorated with Abalone purfiing, inlay and rosette. All bracing and kerfing is repurposed Phillipine Mahogany salvaged from an 82 year old tea table. The fret marker board is Hawaiian Koa with Maple markers. This one also has Grover Super Rotomatic, chrome tuners.
